To measure the full length of a curve (the length of an open curve from the starting point to the end point or to the perimeter of a closed curve), use the Curve length command.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Move the cursor to the curve whose length you want to measure. Measurement result will appear next to the cursor. If you want to display the obtained result in the Information Window, indicate the curve by clicking on it with the mouse.
The selected curve will be highlighted, its name will be displayed in the Objects field on the Parameters panel, and its length value will appear in the Information Window.

To measure length, you can specify only the curves located in the current view (see section Changing view status).

You can select curves before calling the command.

2.Set up measurement parameters: Decimal places and Length units. More...

3.You can measure the lengths of multiple curves with a single command. To quickly view the measured values, hover the cursor over the desired curves. To enter the measurement results into the Information Window, select the curves one by one. You can select multiple objects at once using overlapping or cutting marquee. The specified objects are highlighted, and their names are added to the Objects field. A list of measured lengths appears in the Information window. The sum of all measured values is shown at the end of the list.
To delete a curve from the list, reselect it in the graphics area or delete the curve name from the Objects field. This will deselect the curve, remove its length entry from the Info Window, and recalculate the sum of its lengths.

4.If you need to save or print the measurement results, use the menu commands of Information window.

5.To complete the command, press the Finish button on the Parameters panel or close the Information window.

Additional methods for defining curves

If you need to calculate the total length of objects (segments, arcs, splines) or their parts that make up a continuous sequence, click the Collect contour  button next to the Objects field. The subprocess of contour creation will launch. Complete the necessary steps. Once the contour is complete, the measurement result will appear in the Information Window.

If you need to measure the length of a temporary (non-existent in the document) broken line, click the Create broken line button next to the field Objects. The subprocess of broken line creation will launch. Complete the required steps. Once the broken line is created, the measurement result will appear in the Information window.
