Allows you to create a new or edit an existing custom line style to draw geometric objects. Styles can be stored directly in a document, in a set or a library of styles.

Description of Controls

The element

Description

Name

Input field (edit) style name.

It is recommended to give styles informative names that well reflect the purpose of styles. In the future, it will simplify the search for a style in the list.

Number

Input field (edit) style number.

The rules for style numbering are given in the Style number.

Assign prototype

The field displays the line style used as a template (prototype) for the newly created line style.

The line style is selected from the drop-down list.

The prototype is convenient to use if the new style is a modification of an existing one.

After selection prototype-style in the line style creation and editing dialog, the options are turned on and the values corresponding to the parameters of the selected style appear.

Serves As Hatch Border

Enabling this option means that the lines of this style will be taken into account by the system when automatically determining the borders of hatch.

The option It is a border for hatching is missing from the dialog box called to generate custom hatch style lines.

Group Pen parameters

A group of elements allows you to select the desired type of line on screen and when printed.

Assignable

The option allows you to manually set arbitrary pen settings. After it is turned on, input fields for line thickness become available.

Main/

Of Thin/

Of Thick Line

Options allow you to select one of the system lines (basic, thin or thick), with which the line drawing parameters of the created style will match.

When you turn on any of these options, the thickness entry fields become unavailable.

If the parameters of the selected system line change, the appearance of the lines of the custom style will also change, provided that the corresponding option was enabled during its configuration. On setting up the system lines see the section System Lines...

Thickness of the line drawing when outputting to paper (in millimeters)

Field to set the thickness of the line drawing when outputting to paper.

The value is given in millimeters.

The field is available when the Assignable option is enabled.

Thickness on the screen (in pixels)

Field for setting the thickness of the line drawn on the screen.

The value is specified in pixels.

The field is available when the Assignable option is enabled.

Color

The field displays the current line color.

The drop-down list allows you to specify a color. Clicking the More Colors line displays an expanded color selection dialog.

Curve Type

The switch allows you to select the desired line type: Solid or Intermittent.

If the switch is in the on position Intermittent, then the group is displayed in the dialog Curve elements.

Group Curve elements

A group of elements allows you to set parameters for a discontinuous curve. Items are available if in group Curve type the Intermittent.

List of dash-space combinations

The window displays a list of dash-space combinations for creating a dashed line style. The list is presented as a table, the rows of which contain fields with dash and space lengths.

A dashed line is a sequence of these combinations.

Hatch stroke length, millimeters

Gap length, millimeters

Fields for entering lengths of strokes and gaps.

Values are given in millimeters.

View

The field displays the appearance of the dash-space combination.

Add

The button allows you to create a new combination of a stroke and a gap.

The dimensions of the stroke and the gap in the new combination are the same as in the combination selected before creating the new one.

A new combination is added to the end of the list.

Delete

The button allows you to delete the dash-space combination selected in the list.

Curve Always Terminates with Dash

The option allows you to specify whether the line starts and ends with a dash. ( but not space). The fit is made by proportionally changing the lengths of the strokes.

The state of the option is taken into account when drawing the line, if the strokes have a non-zero length.

Group Fragment

The group of elements allows you to add an image (fragment) to the dash-space combination and configure its display parameters.

Option Curve Always Terminates with Dash and a group Fragment are missing from the dialog box called to generate lines of a custom hatching style.

Fragment...

Clicking on the link allows you to add an arbitrary KOMPAS fragment (*.frw) to the dash-space combination.

Brings up a file selection dialog.

One fragment can be added to each dash-space combination. More abut line style with fragments...

X, Y

Fields for specifying the offset of the fragment's origin relative to the beginning of the stroke.

In the field X the offset in the direction of the strokes (along the line) is entered in the field Y — offset perpendicular to the direction of the strokes.

Values are given in millimeters.

Viewing field

The field displays the fragment as it will be inserted into the dash-space combination.

Delete fragment

The button allows you to remove the fragment added to the dash-gap combination.

Ignore line styles of fragments

This option allows you to set the parameters for drawing fragment lines.

If this option is enabled, the line drawing parameters specified in the Pen parameters group are used for all fragment lines.

If this option is disabled, the line drawing parameters of fragments depend on the line styles used in them as follows:

Custom line styles of a fragment are replaced by the system line style Normal with the current settings (i.e. with the color and thickness for screen and for printing set in the system at the time of adding the fragment to the line style).

The fragment's system line styles are written to the line style with the current settings (if the system line settings were different when the fragment was created, these settings are replaced with the current ones). Line breaks are removed (i.e., broken lines such as Dashed, Centerline, etc. are replaced with solid lines).

Free editing of fragment line parameters is not available either during or after style creation.
