Autoatic saving of documents ensures maximum safety of work results in case of various failures (emergency logout, power failures, computer hardware errors, etc.). That is why it is always recommended to enable autosave when working with the system.

Setting the parameters of autosave of document files is performed in the Autosave section of the setup dialog.

To access the section, call the Settings — Parameters... command and select System —  Files — Autosave in the dialog box that appears.

Autosave

This option allows you to enable or disable autosave files.

When autosave is enabled, autosave files are created in the specified folder at specified intervals (see section Autosave file). You can restore documents from these files in case of emergency shutdown (see Restoring documents from Autosave Files).

Field for entering the time interval after which the system will automatically save files.


Save the previous copy

The drop-down list allows you to specify a folder for automatic saving of files. It can be a system folder of temporary files, subfolder \Bin of the main folder of the system KOMPAS-3D or a folder specified by the user —the option Catalog..... The full path to the current folder for saving source files is displayed in the field.

When the autosave settings are complete, click Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without saving changes, click Cancel.
