Saving the configuration |

Setting the parameters for saving the system configuration KOMPAS-3D is performed in the section Save configuration of setting dialog box.
To access the section, call the Settings — Parameters... 
and in the dialog box that appears, select System — Files — Save configuration.

System settings |
A drop-down list that can be used to select whether to save system settings. System settings include settings made in the System section of the general settings dialog box. The following options are available: •Save always — information about system settings is always saved and written to a file *.cfg. •Save when exiting a dialog — information about system settings is saved when you exit the parameter settings dialog box. •Save on logout — information about system settings is saved when you log out of the system. •Do not save — at the moment of exiting the setup dialog to the current file *.cfg is added to indicate that settings saving is disabled. This file is no longer modified until settings saving is enabled. |

Working window settings |
A drop-down list that allows you to select the option of saving the settings that determine the appearance of the main system window. The available options are: •Save when exiting a dialog — information about the state of the working window is written to a file with extension dsk. •Do not save — file with dsk extension is not created. |

State of open documents |
A drop-down list that allows you to select the status of documents open for editing. The available options are. •Save when exiting a system —If saving the state of open windows is enabled, information about it is recorded in the *.dsk file. In the next KOMPAS-3D session the same documents will be automatically opened as at the moment of exiting the previous session. •Do not save — automatic opening of documents in a new session KOMPAS-3D is not produced. The options are available when saving work window settings is enabled. |
Having completed the settings, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog without changing the settings, click the Cancel button.
An existing configuration setting can be saved in a profile file Save system parameters. Subsequently, applying this profile will allow you to quickly change the current setting to the one recorded in the profile.
