A number of commands in KOMPAS-3D dynamically search for objects. This means that when the cursor passes over an object that can be specified in a given command, that object is highlighted. If several objects that can participate in the execution of a command are close to each other, dynamic search makes it easier to select the correct object. Clicking the mouse allows you to specify the object that is currently highlighted.

When using dynamic search, it becomes possible to specify (select) one of the closely located (including overlapping) objects. The corresponding commands in the context menu are used for selection of closely located objects. These commands are available if several objects fall into the cursor «trap» when specifying (or selecting) an object.

To enable or disable dynamic object search, use the Use dynamic object search option in the Object search section of the settings dialog box.

To access the section, call the Settings — Parameters... command and in the dialog box that appears, select System — Graphic editor — Object search.

Once the required value of the option is set, click the the dialog box Apply and close button.

To exit the dialog box without saving changes, click Cancel.
