Model editor |
Scroll |
Adjustment of colors of selected and specified objects is performed in the Model editor section of setting dialog box. To access the section, call the Settings — Parameters...
command and in the dialog box that appears select System — Model editor —Edit model.
The section allows you to set the colors of:
•selected objects of the model in the process of command operation and when none of the commands is running,
•components that make up the «environment» when editing one of the components in the context of the model containing it (see the Work in the contextual edit mode section),
•phantoms.
At the beginning of the section there are fields for setting the color of rendered objects. To change the current color of an object, click in the field.

Highlighting settings, color |
||
Face phantom |
Field with the current color of the phantom faces shown on the screen while creating or editing a 3D element. Since the phantom is displayed semi-transparent, its appearance also depends on the transparency setting — mesh or realistic. |
|
Caption phantom |
Field with the current color of inscriptions within the operation phantom, for example, curve numbers when plotting a surface over a network of curves. |
|
Selected objects |
A field with the current color of the selected objects when no command is running. Selecting an object is required, for example, to edit its parameters or to use it later when executing a command. After running the command, the color of specified objects changes to the color specified in the fields for the specified objects (see below). |
|
Specified objects 1/ |
Field with the current color of the specified objects (in this case, the specified objects are objects selected during command execution). Multicolored highlighting allows to distinguish objects when specifying them, because some operations use not one but several objects performing different functions. For example, when building an array on a parallelogram grid, all source objects will be highlighted with the color for the first object, the object specified as the first axis will be highlighted with the color for the second object, and the object specified as the second axis will be highlighted with the color for the third object. The color specified for the first specified object is also used when highlighting objects during dynamic search (described in the Selecting objects in the graphic area section), provided that the Object color inversion during dynamic highlighting option is disabled. |
|
Dimensions |
Field with the current color of thumbnail sizes and operations. |
|
Fill faces when highlighting |
Enable this option so that when selecting (specifying) objects, their edges are filled with the color selected for selection (specifying). If the option is disabled, only edges change color when selected (specified). Note that the edges are not colored when dynamically illuminated — only the color of the ribs changes. |
|
The option allows you to enable inverse dynamic highlighting of edges instead of highlighting with the color specified for the first specified object. |
||
Contextual editing |
||
Passive components |
Field with the current color of passive components. Passive components are components that serve as «environment» when editing a component in the context of a model containing components. If the Use custom component colors when contextual editing is enabled, the specified color is ignored. |
|
Use custom component colors when contextual editing |
Enabling the option means that components will retain their colors during contextual editing. |
|
Specifying and selecting objects |
||
This option specifies how operations will highlight lines with the Normal style that intersect with (or touch) other lines of the same style in the same sketch: •if this option is enabled, line segments formed by intersections or tangents with other lines are selected separately, •If this option is disabled, the lines are selected in their entirety. |
||
Use OpenGL search when specifying objects |
Enabling this option means that dynamic search is based on OpenGL objects. In some cases it allows to optimize the dynamic search process. |

Having set the required colors of the selected and specified objects, click Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without changing the settings, click Cancel.
