If the mass and center of mass of the model are not specified by the user, but are found by calculation, then after editing the model, which may lead to changes in mass and center of mass position, their current values are removed from the model. To get new values of mass and coordinates of the center of mass, it is necessary to recalculate the CMP. This can be done manually (using the model CMP command, see the Model CMP section) or automatically.

By default, automatic recalculation of CMP is performed when the model is saved. The user can optionally enable automatic recalculation of CMP when the model is rebuilt or disable automatic recalculation of ICC. This setting is done in the CMP section setting dialog box. To access the section, call the command Settings  — Parameters... and in the dialog box that appears, select System — Model editor — CMP calculation.

You can enable one of the options in the section — Recalculate CMP when saving or Recalculate CMP when rebuilding or both options.

The results of automatic recalculation of CMPs are saved in the model file. When a model is inserted into another model, they are transferred to that model and used to calculate its center of mass properties.

If none of the options are enabled, no automatic recalculation of the CMP is performed.

When the settings are complete, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without saving changes, click Cancel.
