The default settings for working with zones are selected in the Zones section of the setting dialog box. To access the section, call the command Settings — Parameters...
and in the dialog box that appears, select System — Model editor — Zoning.

Create zones only in absolute SC |
•If this option is enabled, the absolute SC is automatically selected to create a new zone. •If this option is disabled, the current SC is selected by the system to create a new zone in the model. |

Select objects within the zone only on the first level of the current document |
•If this option is enabled, you can use zones to select objects built directly in the model and components of the first level. Components of the second and subsequent levels cannot be selected. •If this option is disabled , objects built directly in the model and components of any level can be selected using zones. |

Zone edges |

Style |
List for selecting the style of the zone polyhedron edge line. The following options are available: •Solid line, •Dashed line, •Dots, •Do not display. |

Color |
Field for setting the color of drawing edges of the polyhedron of the zone. To change the drawing color, click in the field. The field is absent when the Do not display option is selected in the Zone edges style list. |

Preview |
The field is used to view the appearance of an edge of the zone polyhedron. The field is absent when the Do not display option is selected in the Zone Rib Style list. |

Paint faces |
The option controls the display of the faces of the polyhedron bounding the zone. |

Optical properties |
Fields for setting the color and optical properties of the faces of the polyhedron of the zone. They are available if the Paint faces option is enabled.The field on the right is used to set the color of faces of the zone. To set the color, click in the field.The field on the left allows you to set the optical properties of the zone — General color, Diffusion, Specularity, Shininess, Transparency and Emission. To set the required values, click the mouse in the field — a panel with «sliders» will appearon thescreen. Move the «slider» on the corresponding scale with the mouse — to the right to increase the value and to the left to decrease it. The numerical value of the parameter is displayed in the reference field. |

To complete the settings, click Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without saving the change, click Cancel.
