Associating a cell in the main caption with a specific property allows it to be automatically displayed in the drawing's main caption: once a property value is set in a drawing, it will appear in the main caption of that drawing. And vice versa: the text entered in the cell associated with a property becomes the value of that property for the drawing.

To associate a cell in the editable table of the main caption with a property, follow the steps below:

1.Place the cursor in the cell you want to associate with the property and call the advanced cell format dialog box.

2.In the Advanced cell format dialog box, enable the General for document option.

3.In the Cell ID list, select the Property... row. The Select property dialog box appears on the screen.

4.Specify one of the system properties in the dialog box or select a property library (*.lpt) and specify the desired property from this library.

5.Close the Select property dialog box with the Select button. The Advanced Cell Format dialog box will remain on the screen. A row with the name of the property will appear in the list of identifiers; this row will be selected for the cell to be customized.

6.Close the Advanced cell format settings dialog box with the Apply button.

Because the selected property is added to the Cell ID list of the Advanced Cell Format dialog box, the property name must not match any row in the list. A match is possible if the property is added from a custom library.

In this case, you must first rename the property in the library.

Having multiple cells associated with the same property in the same table is not allowed. If a property already associated with one cell in a table is selected to be associated with another cell in the same table, its association with the first cell is removed. The type of this cell becomes undefined (i.e., the cell has no identifier), which is an error in setting up the main caption table. You can find such cells in the table being edited using the identifier control.

A library property associated with a cell of the main caption in a design is automatically added to the list of drawing properties after the design is assigned to it.

If a model is projected into a drawing, the properties of that model are passed into the drawing: system properties — selectively (For a list, see the section Model Properties in an Associative Drawing), and libraryproperties — all without exception. Thus, the value of some property N of a model can be automatically displayed in its drawing. This requires:

1.Edit the main inscription included in the drawing design by associating one or another of its cells with the N property (if necessary, you can create a new table in the main inscription to display the model property).

2.Set the value of property N in the model (if it is a library property, it should be set first add to the list of properties of this model).

3.Create a drawing and assign it a design that contains the edited main caption.

4.Project the model into the drawing.

As a result, property N of the drawing will get a value from the model, this value will be displayed in the table of the main caption — in the cell that is associated with property N.
