Standard parameters |
Scroll |
Setup of standard parameters of an associative view is performed using the elements contained in the main section of the Parameter Toolbar. The description of elements is provided below.
Parameters linked to the model
Elements are only accessible for views from the model – Standard and Arbitrary.
|
Element |
Description |
|
Source File |
The field contains the full name of the source file of the model selected for display in the drawing. To specify a different source file, click the Source file link to the left of the field. The screen will display the file selection dialog. Specify the required model in the dialog. If this model contains versions, additional numbers, variants of geometric representation, then the dialog displays lists which allow for selection of the required version, additional number, and variant. Upon completion of selection of the source file, its full name is displayed in the appears in the Source file field. |
|
Model Window Display |
This button allows you to show or hide the window Model-source winow, which contains the model selected for inserting views. In this window, you can: •specify the model bodies to be projected (this option is available only if the All objects/Selected objects switch is set to Selected objects—see below), •set the model’s position to create a custom orientation (the orientation is created using the Fix custom orientation button—see below). |
|
Version |
This list allows you to change the variant of the model for which the associative view is being created. The geometry of the view will correspond to the selected version. The list appears on the Parameter Panel if the model selected for creating the view contains variants. Both dependent and independent variant designations are located at the same level of the list hierarchy. |
|
This list allows you to change the model variant for which the associative view is being created. The view's geometry will correspond to the selected variant. The list appears on the Parameter Panel if the model (or model variant) selected for creating the view contains variants. |
|
|
All objects/Selected objects |
The toggle switch allows for finding out which objects will be projected into the drawing. That depends on the toggle switch position: •All solids – projected are all objects available in the model, •Selected solids – projected are only selected solids. To select solids, use the Model-source window. The required solids are selected with the mouse in the window, and their names are displayed in the Solids field. The Solids field and the Model source window are displayed if the toggle switch is set to the Selected solids position. The display of window can be also controlled with the Model Window Display button. |
|
Model Orientation; Fix custom orientation |
The list allows you to select the model orientation for the main view (when creating standard views) or an arbitrary view. The list contains the names of all orientations, including user-defined ones, available in the model’s source file (for information on creating user-defined orientations, see the Model Orientation section). If the Model-Source window is displayed (see above), a Fix User Orientation button appears next to the list. It allows you to create an orientation corresponding to the model’s position in the Model-source window. This orientation will be added to the list and stored in the drawing view settings; it is not transferred to the source model. If necessary, you can replace the created orientation with another one by setting a new model position in the window and clicking the button again. After changing the orientation, the drawing must be redrawn. |
View Pattern
The element is only accessible when creating standard model view.
Element |
Description |
|
View Pattern |
This group of buttons lets you select the model views you want to create. By default, the main view, front view, and left view are created. To enable or disable the creation of a view, click the corresponding button in the group. You cannot disable the creation of the main view. The arrangement of the buttons in the group depends on the projection method selected when configuring the parameters for a new view (see the New View Parameters section). |
Layer Transfer
The element is accessible to all views except the Broken-out Section.
Element |
Description |
|
Transfer layers |
The option controls transfer of layers, groups of layers and filters in the model into a drawing: if the option is enabled, layers are transferred, and if disabled, then not. It is possible to transfer only the layers with Project to drawing property, for more details see section Transfer of layers from model into drawing. |
Parameters for building cuts
Cut/section element is available for views Cut/Section and Broken-out Section, and the remaining — only for Broken-out Section.
Element |
Description |
|
Cut/Section |
A toggle switch to select the image type – a cut or section. |
|
Border |
A field in which the name of the closed line (a circle, an ellipse, etc.) selected as the border of a broken-out section is displayed. The line should be created in advance and be on the reference view. If it is required to re-select a line, delete its name from the field by clicking the «x» icon in its right-hand part |
|
Cutting plane |
A field in which the message stating whether the clip plane is set or not. While creating a broken-out section after setting a clip plane, the operation ends automatically. While editing the parameters of a broken-out section, the name of the field is a link. Clicking this link allows you to set a cutting plane again. |
Adjusting the projection depth
Limiting the area of the model that will be projected into the view using specifying the boundary pane. The setting is available for all associative types, except Standard, Enlarged detail, Broken-out section and Cut/section, if a Section is selected.
|
Element |
Description |
|
Projection depth |
The switch allows you to enable the setting for setting the boundary plane. If the switch is in the I (on) position, then the boundary plane controls are displayed in the View Parameters Panel. |
|
Distance/The boundary plane |
The switch allows you to define the way the boundary plane will be set: •Distance. The method in which the boundary plane is located at a given distance from the dimensional plane of the model closest to the observer. The distance is set manually in the Distance field or using a geometric calculator. The default value is 10. •Boundary Plane. The method in which the boundary plane is positioned relative to the origin and is set in the graphic area of the drawing is in a view whose projection plane is perpendicular to the projection plane of the current view. After specifying the field name, the Boundary Plane becomes a reference. Clicking on it allows you to set the plane again. If you want to complete the process of setting the plane without changing it, click Stop selection |
|
|
When creating an associative view, there is only one way to set the boundary plane — the Distance, and when editing — both ways. |
|
Component on boundary |
A group of buttons controls the display of objects (components, bodies, surfaces) that are intersected by a boundary plane.:
|
The items are available for different views.
Element |
Description |
|
Projection Link |
The switch controls whether there is a projection connection between the associative view and its reference view. If there is a connection, then the movement of species is limited. To move and/or rotate the view arbitrarily, disconnect the connection. After that, the Rotation Angle field will appear on the Parameters Panel. The presence of a projection connection can also be controlled using the Projection link command in the associative context menu. For views View in arrow direction, Projection and Cut/section. |
|
Explode Assembly Components |
This option controls the separation of the assembly. It is present in the Parameters Panel if the source file is an assembly with the specified component separation parameters (see the section Exploding components) For views View in arrow direction, Projection and Cut/section. |
|
Flat pattern |
This option controls the display of the leaf body in the expanded view. It is present in the Parameters Panel if the source file is a part containing a sheet body and scan parameters (see the section Flat pattern parameters setting). For the scan image in the drawing, see also the section Flat pattern drawing. For the types Arrow view direction, Arbitrary and Projection. |
