Partial and Simplified load types mean that data are not fully extracted from the component file. Therefore, you have limited options for working with a component, and you cannot preview the component structure in the Design Tree (see Notes on Components with Partial Load). However, these load types reduce time required to open the assembly and improve the system performance when working with the assembly, moreover, in a graphic area this assembly looks as if its components were fully loaded.

With a Simplified load type, only triangulation is loaded from the component file. These data only let you create a component appearance, therefore, this load mode is recommended for viewing the assembly. If the component is placed in the model using the By matings, then after applying the type of load Simplified, the component is fixed in its current position (in the Feature Tree, an icon appears next to the component icon).

With a Partial load type, solids and surfaces are loaded from the component file. Therefore, you can apply operations to partially loaded components, e. g. make chamfers and holes; you can also overlay mating on them. They are not applied automatically to components of the Full load type.

In a graphic area of the model, simplified and partially loaded components look the same as the fully loaded ones. In the Feature Tree, Partial and Simplified load types  are displayed with corresponding icons:

Partial,

 — Simplified.

If the assembly and/or its components were created in KOMPAS-3D version 17 or earlier, then to achieve the maximum effect from using the load types Simplified and Partial, all these models need to be saved in the current version of KOMPAS-3D.
