Loading a configuration for printing from the main window

You can load a printing device configuration when you set up document printing from the main window or from the preview window.

You can load a configuration to print a document from the main window as follows.

1.Activate the required document.

2.Call the File — Print... or File — Special Print... command. The Print Settings or Special Print Settings dialog will appear on the screen).

3.Call the File — Set Up Print Preview — Load Plotter/Printer Cconfiguration... from the Settings... button menu (to open this menu, click the triangle to the right of the button). The standard Select File dialog will appear on the screen.

4.Select the required configuration file (with the pdc extension) and click Open.

If you have recently saved or loaded a configuration, you can load it by selecting from the list of configurations in the Settings... button menu. This list contains configurations that have been saved or loaded for the documents of the same type as the current document.

By default, this list contains nine recently saved or loaded configuration files. You can set up the number of items in the list (see section General Settings).

5.Click Print to print the document. Click Cancel if you don’t need to print the document right now.

Note that the data from the configuration file you have selected to print a document will be used for all documents of the same type.

You can load a configuration for printing a document in the preview mode both in the main window and in the preview window.

Loading a configuration for printing from the preview window

The configuration used to print a document from the preview window can be loaded either from this window or from the main system window.

To load a configuration, do the following.

1.Call the Load Plotter/Printer Configuration... command using one of the following methods:

in the main window, from the File — Set Up Print Preview menu,

in the preview mode, from the File — Plotter/Printer Configuration  menu.

The standard Select File dialog will appear on the screen.

2.Select the required configuration file (with the pdc extension) and click Open.

To select a configuration, you can use the list or recently saved or loaded configurations located in the File — Set Up Print Preview menu in the main window or File — Plotter/Printer Configuration menu in the preview mode.

When you load a configuration, the current printing device is replaced by the printing device specified in the configuration file; the paper size and page orientation settings are acquired from the file. All the other print settings are not changed. You need to configure these settings manually.

The data loaded from the configuration file are saved during the current session of KOMPAS-3D.

You can modify the settings acquired from the configuration file or select another printing device. These changes are not saved in the configuration file. If necessary, you can save the current settings to a new configuration file or overwrite an existing file.
