Description of setting

The size of the list of recent print jobs.

The field allows to enter or set – using a counter – the number of objects in the list of the last loaded or saved print jobs (see section Print job). This list is displayed in the menu File — Print Job.

By default, the number of objects in the list equals to nine.

Size of the list of recent configuration files for plotters/printers

The field allows to enter or set – using a counter – the number of objects in the list of latest loaded or saved configurations of print devices (see section Printing device configurations). This list is displayed here:

•In the menu of the Settings... button in the Print document dialog (see section Printing from the main window) and the dialog box Special print document (see section Special print),

•in the menu File – Print Preview.

By default, the number of objects in the list equals to nine.

Default plotter/printer configuration

The group of elements allows to select configurations of print devices which will be used by default for printing documents of all types and for special print.

To select the required configuration files, the Browse... buttons are used. Full names of files are displayed in the dialog fields.

The selected configuration files will be used by default in the next session of running KOMPAS-3D.

If the configurations files are not selected, then the default print device is the default Windows printer.

Browse...

The button allows to select the required configuration file for plotter/printer in a standard file selection dialog. Configuration files have the pdc extension.

The full file name in the print queue

The state of this option affects the display of the document file name in the Windows print queue.

With the option enabled, the name of the file in the print queue is formed using the "KOMPAS – <full file name>" template, for example: KOMPAS – D:\\My Documents\\Project1\\Drawing.cdw, and when disabled — by the template «KOMPAS - <short file name>», for example: KOMPAS – Drawing.cdw.

If several documents are sent to print simultaneously (that is possible in the print preview mode), then regardless of the state of this option the document name in the print queue is formed using the KOMPAS – Print job hms" template, where hms is the time for sending a print job to the printer (time in a 24-hour format, minutes and seconds). For example: KOMPAS – Print Job 152436.

Note that some printing devices have limitations for the file name length in the print queue. Therefore, it is necessary to enable this option, only if display of the full file name is really needed.
