The print preview mode is a special operation mode of the KOMPAS-3D system. In this mode, you can see what a printout will look like before you print it, i. e. how the document, or several documents, will be arranged on sheets of paper. In the preview mode, you can modify various settings if needed: set the scale, orientation and position of the documents, select the part of the document to be printed, disable printing certain pages, etc.
To switch to the print preview mode before you start printing, call the Print Preview... command.

If one document is opened in the main system window, it will be shown at once in the Previewmode.
If more than one documents is opened, the dialog will be displayed to select documents for printing. You can select one or more documents in the list. In addition, you may select closed documents for printing by clicking the Choose from the disk... button. The selected documents will be shown in the preview mode.
To disable displaying Document Selection dialog, and to display the current document in theprint preview, click the Print Preview... button while holding the <Shift> key.

When working with a graphic document, you can open just the current sheet of the document in the preview mode rather than the entire document. To do this, use the Send This Page to Preview command in the context menu.
You can configure the desired document display settings and print the document in the print preview mode.

Drawing views may be displayed in the preview window in a simplified manner: as bounding rectangles. This makes rendering of drawings faster when switching to the preview mode if there are many pages or if the views contain many details. Views are printed without simplifications. Enabling and configuration of the simplified display is performed in the KOMPAS.ini file (see section KOMPAS.ini File). |
To finish work in the preview mode and return to the KOMPAS-3D standard mode, either click the Close Preview 
button on the preview window toolbar, call the File — Close Preview command, or click the mode icon in the graphic area
