Assignment of various values to variables allows to manage values of other variables and parameters of objects without direct editing of an image or model.

Values of user variables are used for obtaining values of other user variables, of variables of operation parameters, and of dimension variables.

The value assignment method for a user variable is set and can be changed on the Variables toolbar. The following methods are available:

•direct entry of number or constantwhich is the value of the variable,

•entering an expression to calculate the value of a variable,

•reference to a variable, i. e., assigning the value of another variable.

Assignment of various values to variables of operation parameters allows to manage the geometry of a model, and assignment of values to dimension variables allows to manage the geometry of an image in a graphic document and sketch.

Variables of operation parameters get their initial values automatically at operation creation. Initial values of dimension variables are values of the dimensions for which they were created.

You can change the value of a variable of an operation parameter or of a dimension variable by setting a different value assignment method on the Variables toolbar. For variables of these types, the same methods of value assignment are also available as for user variables (see above). Variables of the Exclude from Calculation and Fix Component parameters control the state of model objects — including objects into calculation and fixing components, respectively. To transfer the changed values of variables to the document, rebuild it.
