Offset section plane |

If when creating model section, in the Method group the Offset Plane
button is pressed, then the section plane is positioned parallel to the base. You can use any flat object that exists in the document as the base plane.
Follow these steps to configure the position of the section plane.
1.Specify the base plane.
•If the current step is the first cutting step, specify a flat object in the Design Tree or in the graphic range. The name of the selected object will appear in the Plane field.
•If the current step is one of the next cutting steps, there is the Base plane group of elements on the Parameter Panel. Select the method of defining the base plane and select the desired object. To do this, set the Model plane/Previous step section plane toggle switch to the required position:
•Model plane – specify a plane or flat facet as a base plane. The name of the selected object will appear in the Plane field.
•Plane of previous step section – the system chooses the section plane defined in one of the previous cutting steps as the base plane. To configure the cutting step expand the Step selection list and select the required line. The list contains all previous cutting steps, created in the current section, except for the steps with names containing symbols (!), and steps whose parameters are specified in a manner Box or Zone.
After the base plane is configured a phantom of the section plane will appear in the graphic range. The cutting direction is indicated with a blue arrow.
2.In the Distance field enter the offset of the section plane relative to the base plane.
The plane can be offset manually using the blue arrow that shows the direction of cutting:
•arbitrary distance – drag the arrow with the mouse,
•specified distance – click the arrow and enter the offset value in the field that appears.

For the task of determining the distance of plane displacement from the baseline, you can use commands of geometrical calculator. |
3.The cutting direction can be changed to the opposite by clicking the Change direction button
to the right of the Distance field.
4.If required you can configure the orientation of the model so that the section plane is parallel to the screen plane. For this purpose, the View on the section plane
button is used.
