Auto-sorting of letter designations of objects |
Scroll |
Auto-sorting allows to automatically arrange letters which are used in the following designations:
•view arrows,
•leader elements,
•lines of cut/cross-section (for mechanical engineering),
•bases,
•leader lines,
•dimensions (except the height).
Only letters of designations included into the #Auto-sorting system group of numeration. For these designations, arbitrary input of letters is impossible. The required letter is selected by the system automatically according to the settings. The created object is added into the #Auto-sorting numeration group. Its designation in the graphic area of the document contains a link to the number of this object in the group (in this case, numbers are represented by letters and not numbers). Operations with numeration groups are performed on the panel Numbering. The procedure for adding letters to designations is described in section Order of adding a number into the object designation.
The position of an object in the #Auto-sorting group is determined by its type. Objects of the same type are integrated into subgroups which follow one by one in the group list. The sequence of subgroups of objects depending on the type is also specified upon setup.
Main actions with auto-sorted objects:
•Enabling auto-sorting of an object
•Automatic enabling of auto-sorting is available to all objects, except the dimensions. To that end, enable the Auto-sorting option when sorting or editing an object. If it is required that auto-sorting be enabled automatically for all newly created objects of a certain type, enable the respective option in the auto-sorting setup dialog.
•Manual enabling of auto-sorting is available to all objects. To that end, add
object into the group #Autosorting. If necessary, you can add an object into any numeration group.
To learn about adding objects to numbering groups, see the section Adding an object into a numeration group.
•Change of letter in the designation of the jbject
To change the letter of an object, change its position in the group list using the Move Down
and Move Up
buttons. It is possible to move an object only inside a subgroup of objects of the same type. For more details on changing the object position in a numbering group, see the section Change of number.
•Disable auto-sorting of an object
To disable the auto-sorting of the object, delete
it from the numbering group or, when editing the object (except for size) in the Parameters toolbar, disable the Auto-sorting option. These and other methods of excluding objects from auto-sorting are described in detail in the section Exclusion of object from a numeration group.
While excluding an object from auto-sorting, designations of the remained objects are generated again in view of "freed up" letters.
If auto-sorting is disabled for a view arrow, a leader element, a cut/section line, base, then the link to a letter turns into a plain text. You can enter another letter and/or any other character, including the one used in other designation.
If auto-sorting is disabled for an leader line or dimension, then the link to a letter is removed from designation of the object.

If necessary, you can create objects with the same letters controlled by auto-sorting. To that end, add one of them into the #Auto-sorting group, and into the designation of the remaining add a link to the letter of that object. Addition of links is described in the section Creating a reference. For objects, into which links are added, auto-sorting must be disabled. |
