Adding an object into a numeration group (i.e. enabling auto-numeration of an object) can be carried out manually or automatically.

Manual addition of an item

Automatic addition of an item

While adding an object into any group, except the #Auto-sortinggroup, it is placed at the end of the object list of the group and gets the last number in the list. The position of objects in the list of the #Auto-sorting group depends on the type of objects and is determined by setup. Therefore, an added object is placed as the last item among objects of the same type.

You can change the number of an object. To that end, move it in the list. If there is a vacant number in the group (for all groups, except the #Auto-sortinggroup), then it can be assigned to the added object. To learn about vacant numbers, see section Vacant numbers and auto-rebuilding of numbering.

One and the same object can’t belong to several numeration groups simultaneously. Therefore, if an object already included into another group is added into a group, then the object is moved from the source group to the group specified for addition.

Manual addition of an item

Manual addition is available to objects of all types. At the same time, an object can be placed into any numeration group.

To add an object or several objects manually, do the following actions.

1.Select the required group from the list of numeration groups.

2.In the graphic area of the document, select objects which needs to be added into the selected group.

3.Click the Add selected objects button in the panel header. Numbering.

Automatic addition of an item

Automatic addition of an object into a group is carried out during its creation or editing. To that end, controls of the Parameter Toolbar are used. Depending on the object type, the following methods are available:

for a table, report, a designation of change — select the numeration group, into which an object needs to be added, from the Numbering group, (the list is located for tables — in the Tablesection, for a designation of change — in the main section of the Parameter Panel),

for an view arrow, a leader element, a lines of cut/cross-section, base, an leader line — enable the Auto-sortingoption.

If the Auto-Sorting option is enabled during the creation of an object, then all new objects of the same type will be automatically added to the #Auto-Sorting group (in the Configuration dialog, auto-sorting of objects of this type is enabled.

Enabling the option while editing an option does not affect newly created objects.

Automatic addition of objects into groups has the following features:

a table, a report or designation of change are added into any group, except the #Auto-sortinggroup,

a view arrow, a leader element, a cut/section line, datum, a leader line are added only to the #Auto-sorting group,

for a dimension of any type, automatic adding into numeration groups is unavailable.
