Assigning "uncuttable" components when working with a model |
Scroll |
When you work with an associative drawing, values of certain source model properties are transferred into it. One of these properties is Dissect at Cuts. The value of this property determines how the model components will be displayed at cuts and sections (including sections and detail sections) of an associative drawing.
By default, all the model components located within the cutting plane are displayed as cut. The Dissect at Cuts property value of each of these components is Yes.
You can assign a component as "uncuttable", i. e. set the No value for the property. In this case, the component will be displayed as whole at cuts and sections.
Note that changing the Dissect at Cuts property value only influences newly created cuts/sections. Cuts/sections already existing in the drawing remain unchanged.
Step-by-step instructions
To assign a component as "uncuttable", do the following in an assembly model.
1.Call the command for the required component Component Properties. Property setup controls will appear in the Parameter Panel.
2.Expand the Property List section.
3.Enable display in the property list of the Dissect at Cuts property. To do this, click the Property List Settings
button and enable the option corresponding to this property in the dialog that appears.
4.Change the Dissect at Cuts property value by selecting the No value in a drop-down list in the Value cell.
5.To complete changing the component properties, click the Create object
button on the Parameter Panel header.

Certain parts such as fasteners are in most cases displayed as uncut. It makes sense to assign such a part as "uncuttable" in the part file itself and not in the assembly comprising this part. To do this, open the part file, run the Model properties and perform the actions described above. |
Subsequently, you can change the property value in the model and Assigning components as 'uncuttable' or vice versa when working with associative drawing. Changes made to the drawing are not transferred to the model.
