There are two modes available when plotting/modifying a spline or a broken line: Creation and Edit.

In the Creation mode, new points of the curve are consecutively defined.

In the Edit mode, you can modify the configuration of the curve. In this mode, the following actions are available:

change position of points

Change of point positions

delete points, add points to existing parts of a curve

Adding and deleting points

Inserting an aggregate of points

delete the associative link of the point with a point object

More details on the associative link and its deletion...

for splines: change the spline shape in points, select other point plotting methods (for 3D splines), to set the point weight (for Spline by poles)

For broken line — choose other plotting methods, set rounding radii in points

To modify the parameters of a curve in a point, please select this point in the Point parameters table or in the model graphic area (selection in the table is available in any mode, but selection in the graphic area is available only in editing mode) and make the necessary modifications.

You can perform all modifications with the mouse in the graphic area, or use the point parameters table and the fields of the Parameter Toolbar. You can modify the parameters the same way you were setting them.

All modifications are applied to the phantom of the curve in the graphic area.

After making changes, you can continue specifying points by returning to the Creation mode.

Some curve parameters may be set or modified in any operating mode, e.g., add a collection of points; set the curve style and properties; modify the order of the spline by the poles; change the face on which it is constructed. surface spline etc.

Toggling modes

By default, when you run a command to create a new curve, the Creation mode is enabled. When you edit an existing curve, the Edit mode is enabled.

You can toggle between modes while the command is running. To do this, use the Creation/Edit toggle switch. It becomes active if at least one point is set for the curve.

The system switches to editing mode when you activate any cell of the Point parameters table.
