Position of the sketch coordinate system – position of the origin point.
The coordinates of this point will be automatically determined when creating sketch, and are fixed. They are displayed in the Coordinates field of the Position elements group in Sketch Coordinate System section of the Parameter Panel. Fixed coordinate values are marked with the
icon.
You can change the position of the coordinate system by setting the position of its origin point in one of the following ways.
•Set the position of the point by moving the base element
.
•Enter the coordinates of the point in the Coordinates field.
•Undo the fixation of coordinates and point the mouse to the position of the point in the graphic area of the model.
•Specify a point object with which the origin of the coordinate system will be associated. Due to such association, the sketch coordinate system will follow the object when its position changes.
Ways to specify a point object:
•Activate the Snap Point field and select a point object in the graphic area of the model or in the Design Tree.
•Plot a special point by clicking the Build Point
button next to the Snap Point field. This will start subprocess of plotting a point. Select the design method, set the required parameters and complete the point build process. In this case, the point is a separate object, and it can be edited in the normal way.
The name of the specified object appears in the Snap Point field, while the Coordinates field becomes unavailable.

If the point of origin of the sketch coordinate system is associated with an object, its position can only be changed by changing this object. To use another method (setting coordinates, specifying a point, moving a locating element), you must delete the name of the specified object from the Snap pointfield. |
Changing the position of the sketch coordinate system does not change its orientation.
