Changing the direction of copying objects |
Scroll |
After selection of objects to copy, the graphic region will display phantoms of their future copies. Arrows on the phantoms indicate the direction of curves, edges, axes, and the direction of normals to faces, planes, and surfaces.
If the option Assemble the faces according to the original elements is enabled on the Parameter Panel (see section 4 in the chapter Creating a copy of geometric objects), then for faces constituting a single surface, only one direction is shown – the normal to the first face forming the surface.
|
Direction is shown only if the objects themselves are copied – faces, edges, curves, and others. If, for example, a body is copied, then for its faces and edges, direction arrows are not displayed. |
You can change the direction to the opposite. Depending on the way the set of objects being copied is specified, the following methods of direction change may be available.
•Arbitrary set of objects — select the desired object in the Objects field of the Parameters panel and press the Change direction button
next to this field or click in the graphic area on the characteristic point of the arrow indicating the direction for this object.
If the option Assemble the faces according to the original elements is enabled, changing the direction for one of the faces of the surface changes the direction for all the faces of this surface.
The object for which the direction is changed is marked in the Objects field with the symbol
.
•Collection of objects — click the Change Direction button
next to the Collection field in the Parameters toolbar.
The direction changes for all objects in the collection. If new objects are added to the collection in the future, then the direction will also be changed for them.
Change of direction is available both when creating a copy and during its editing. In the case of replacing the source objects of the copy and further setting compliance between the new and old copying results, you can change the direction for objects of the new result during the setup of compliance.
