To create a designation of the datum surface, do the following.
1.Call the Base
command
In the graphic region, a designation phantom will appear.
2.Specify the object for labeling a designation (the outline of a part, the centerline, etc.). The name of the selected object will appear in the Object field on the Parameter Panel.
3.Select the placement option for the signage: perpendicular to the designated surface or at an arbitrary angle relative to it. To that end, press the required button in the Leadergroup:
Arbitrary ,
Perpendicular.

The line connecting designation of the datum and frame starts in the middle of the frame side if the designated object deviates from the vertical or horizontal by no more than 2°. If the slope is greater, then the line starts at the closest frame vertex. Frame sides are parallel to the axes of the absolute coordinate system. |
The position of the signage can also be set without indication of an object– a mouse click in a free space of the graphic region. In this case, the Leadergroup of buttons will be unavailable.
4.The letter suggested by system for designation of datum is displayed in the Text field and on the designation phantom. If required, you can Edit designation and/or its outline.
5.Indicate the point determining the position of signage on a selected object. If a point is indicated outside of object, then the position of signage is determined by the projection of a set point onto an object or its continuation. In this case, the object (except for splines, conic curves, and Bezier curves) is automatically extended to the required distance as a thin line.
After the sign position is set, designating of datum surface automatically ends.
6.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
button.
