Establishing correspondence between the new and old component sources

Scroll

When replacing the source file of a component or several components that are insertions of the same model, you can establish a correspondence between the new and old sources of the components. This allows maintaining the functionality of the matings involving the components and the associativity of the assembly geometry built based on these components.

Within the framework of mapping, replacement of references is performed — references to objects of the old source file are replaced with references to objects of the new file.

The correspondence setting is available if the source of all selected components is a single model (including the same one). version, Additional number, variant of the geometric representation).

A special process is used to set the compliance. He starts the process when Changing the source of components By clicking the Create with matching button in the Creation options section of the Parameter panel.

In the process of establishing correspondence, two operating modes are provided: object selection mode and result display mode. To select the required mode, use the switch Object selection/View result.

After transitioning to the configuration setup process, the object selection mode becomes active. In the graphics area, the component with the new source is displayed. In the case of multiple insertions, only one of them is displayed on the screen – the one that was selected to replace the first (the name of this insertion is located in the first line of the Components list in progress). Changing the source of components). The model, which was the source of components before the replacement was performed, is displayed in the window. Model-source.

By default, all objects of the assembly model, except for the first insertion with a new source, are hidden. If you need to display them, press the Show environment button on the Parameter panel or click the icon in the graphical area. Hidden objects will appear on the screen, the button icon Show surroundings will change to , and the icon in the graphic area will disappear.

Establish the correspondence between the objects of the old and new sources of components.

Step-by-step instructions

1.In the object selection mode, specify the pairs of objects between which you need to establish correspondence. To do this, specify the following objects that make up each pair:

The model object that was the source of the component is indicated in the Model-source window,

The model object, which will be the source of the component after the operation is completed, is indicated in the graphic area.

For establishing correspondence, you can choose faces, edges, vertexes.
Selecting a solid or surface is also available. During the execution of complex operations (for example, building Surface equidistant lines) the topology of the solid is used. Therefore, to avoid errors, you need to establish correspondence not only between the objects themselves but also between the solids to which they belong.

Correspondence can be established only between objects of the same type.

The new source is displayed only for the first model insertion, therefore, it sets the correspondences for all necessary objects for all insertions.

When replacing one subassembly with another subassembly, alignment can be established automatically if the number of components in the subassemblies is the same and the paths to the components coincide. In this case, manual assignment of correspondence is not required.

The selected replacement assembly model may contain fewer or more components than the original subassembly. You can establish correspondence between objects of the required components.

The names of the selected objects appear in the row of the table on the Parameters toolbar. Each object is placed into its respective cell — Source object and New object accordingly. In the graphic area and in the Model-source window, the selected objects are highlighted in color and marked with the row number of the table in which their names are listed.

2.Ensure that with the established correspondence of the selected objects, the assembly geometry will be rebuilt in the required manner and no errors will appear on the matings. To do this, start the View result mode by setting the Object Selection/Result Viewing switch to the corresponding position. Selection elements of objects will cease to be displayed. All the assembly objects, as they will be after the operation is completed, will appear on the screen.
Objects can be viewed both in the graphic area and in the Design Tree. We recommend enabling the display. Additional assembly Design tree and pay attention to conjugations marked with the symbol ! — they lose functionality after executing the operation.

For objects with errors in the Design Tree, you can call the dialog What is wrong? (click the mouse on the icon !). You can view the error details in the dialog and return to the mapping process by clicking the Close button. To exit the dialog using the Edit button interrupts this process.

If the image in the graphical area differs from the expected and/or the Construction Tree contains erroneous objects, return to the Object Selection mode and modify the set of objects to establish correspondence between them.

3.To confirm the replacement of the component source with the set object correspondence, click Create Object button. The operation will be completed. To apply the changes you need to Rebuild the model.

If you need to return from the process of setting correspondence to the operation of component replacement, click Complete button. In so doing, all actions made in the process of setting compliance will be undone.
