To enable the required global snap on the current tab, click Snaps button on the Quick Access Bar and run the corresponding command from the button menu.

The button also serves as an indicator of the action of global snaps: a pressed button means enabled global snaps and a depressed one means disabled global snaps. To switch the button using the keyboard, use the key shortcut <Ctrl>+<D>. To temporarily disable global snaps, press and hold the <Alt>key; upon release of the key, the snaps will be enabled.

You can enable several various global snaps to objects, and all of them will work simultaneously. In so doing, calculation of the point is performed "on the fly", and the phantom matching this point is displayed on the screen.

If several snaps can be performed with the current cursor position, then the one of higher priority is activated. For example, the Nearest Point and Intersection snaps located one after the other in the list are enabled. If with the current cursor position (for example, while specifying a point for alignment) its "trap" captures the defining point of the object and the intersection point of objects, then the higher priority snap Nearest Point will be activated.

The list of priorities coincides with the order of snap numbering in the Global Snaps setting dialog. Options for enabling and disabling global snaps and several additional settings are also available in the dialog.

When working with a sketch in a model, you can make snaps to sketch objects as well as to model objects. Details...

If a document is opened in multiple windows, settings of the snaps which were performed in one of them apply to all windows of the document.
