Copying BOM Item |
Scroll |
You can also create a BOM item by copying an existing item and then editing the copy. When copying a base item, a base item is generated, when copying an auxiliary item, an auxiliary item is generated.
To copy an item, select it (without entering the text editing mode) and run the Edit — Copy Item command.
The system will create a new item with a text part that duplicates the text part of the selected item, and will switch to the editing mode of this text part (see section Entering and Editing the Text Part of the BOM Item). After changing the data in the columns of the new item, confirm its creation.
An item created by copying another item is no different in its properties and parameters from items created using the Insert — Add Base/Auxiliary Item command.
Copying is normally used to create items with the text slightly different from the text of an existing item.
The copied item is placed in the same section of the BOM as its prototype. The copy cannot be placed in a different section.
