Creating a measurement object within the model

Scroll

In commands for measuring distance and angle, face area or edge length, you can create a measurement object. At the same time, in the model, related objects are automatically formed, such as Info variables, values of which are equal to the measurement results.

Specify the object(s) by clicking in the graphic area, and then click Create measurement button on the Parameter Toolbar.

The measurement object corresponding to the last measurement taken appears in the Design Tree.

When a measurement is selected in the Design Tree, the object(s) of this measurement are highlighted in the graphic area.

Using the Distance and Angle command a measurement object with a brief or full set of variables can be obtained depending on the setting for the Brief option.

The measurement object is not editable — it can only be removed from the model or excluded from the calculation.

The measurement constantly keeps the reference with its objects, i.e. after editing the model, which affects the measurement result, the value of the variable corresponding to this measurement changes. If the measurement object was excluded from the calculation, then the new value of the variable is calculated after the object is included in the calculation.

Sometimes editing the model can lead to the degeneration of the "measurement" object. For example, if two points between which the distance was measured coincided. In this case, the measurement object is marked as error in the Design Tree.

When you delete an object involved in the measurement, the measurement object is deleted.
