Template selection is made when creating a document on the Start page or in the New Document dialog, which is invoked by the following methods:

•File – Create... command,

•Create... button on the File panel in the Tool Area of the window,

•Templates... command from the menu of the button located at the beginning of the line of document tabs,

•double click on the free space in the row of document tabs.

On the Start page or in the document creation dialog, click on the link Document by template. The list of document templates appears in the left part of the dialog box. Templates are grouped into sections. The first section – System – contains templates for new KOMPAS documents of each type.

You can expand and close sections by clicking on the icons and in the lines with their names.

Double-click on a template name displays a minified document image in the right part of the dialog box.

To create a document from a template, select the Create document from template command in the template's context menu or double-click the template name.

Creating document by template

There is no link created between a template and a document created from it. You can change any settings in a document, created from a template. Any changes in document parameters are not transferred to the initial template. And vice versa, any changes in template parameters do not affect the created document in any way..
