Symmetry of the objects' characteristic points relative to a segment is established using the Symmetry of two points command.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Specify the axis of symmetry — a segment, a centerline, or an auxiliary line. The name of the selected object is displayed in the Symmetry Axis field on the Parameter Panel.

2.Specify two defining points to be symmetrical.

When working with a drawing please note that all the parameterized objects must belong to the same view.

If the existing constraints do not prevent symmetric placement of the points relative to the segment, then the image will be rebuilt, and after that the preset condition will be fulfilled. Constraints Point Symmetry will be imposed on the objects that these points belong to.

3.To complete the command, click Finish .

Additional features for applying constraints...

The Point symmetry constraint can be automatically applied when constructing objects in parametric mode. To do this, the Symmetry option must be enabled in the Parametrize list when setting up parametric mode. The parametric mode setting is performed for a graphic document in the section Parametrization of setting dialog box, and for the sketch in the model — in the section Sketch. The constraint will occur when the command Mirroring is executed, if an existing segment is specified as the axis of symmetry (and not two points belonging to the axis of symmetry).

Constraints are displayed in the graphic area in the constraint display mode. Symmetry of points is indicated by the symbol .
