Adding constraints |
Scroll |
Configuring the use of the system's parametric mode KOMPAS-3D for a graphic document is performed in the Parameterization section of setting dialog box.
To access the section, call the command Settings — Parameters...
and in the dialog box that appears, select Current document — Adding constraints.

Setting description |
|
Enable parametric mode |
The option allows you to enable or disable parametric mode in the document. •If the option is enabled, the parametric mode is enabled and its configuration options are available. •If the option is disabled, the parametric mode is disabled and its setting options are not available. Enabling/disabling parametric mode does not change its setting. Parametric mode can also be switched on/off using the Parametric mode button on the Quick access bar. |
|
Fix dimensions |
Enabling this option means that associative dimensions will be automatically fixed and linked to a variable during creation (control dimensions). If the option is disabled, associative dimensions are created informational and without variables. More about control and information dimensions... The option is available if the Enable parametric mode option is enabled. |
|
Fix the length of the axle axle |
Enabling the option means that the autoseed — in the case if at least one of its points remains free from constraints — additionally a fixed length constraint will be imposed . If the option is disabled, this constraint is not imposed. Learn more about the constraints automatically imposed on the autosequence.. The option is available when the Enable parametric mode option is enabled. |
|
Display constraints |
The option allows you to enable or disable limit display mode in the document. In the model, the option is enabled by default and disabled in the graphic document. You can also enable/disable the display constraints mode using the Display constraints button on the Quick access bar. |
|
Display degrees of freedom |
The option allows you to enable or disable degrees of freedom mapping in the document. By default, the option is disabled. It is also possible to enable/disable the display of degrees of freedom using the Display degrees of freedom button on the Quick access bar. |
|
Create both associative |
The list contains the names of the object types. Enable the options next to the names of the object types to be created as associative (linked to other objects) during their construction. If dimension associativity is enabled, associative diametrical, radial and angular dimensions will be applied only to curves with which associativity can be performed. It is not possible to associate dimensions to sides of rectangles and polygons, to arcs and segments in a contour or in a macro element. |
|
Parameterize |
The list contains the names of the types of links between objects. Enable the options next to the names of the types of links between objects that should be automatically parameterized when entering and editing an image. |
|
All of them |
The option allows you to enable/disable the association of all objects contained in the Create as associative list. The same option allows you to enable/disable parameterization of all association types contained in the Parameterize list. The option can be in one of three states: •enabled •undefined •disabled If the state of an option is not defined, clicking on the option will disable it, the next click will enable it. |
|
Enabling the parametric mode makes no sense if all options in the Create as associative and Parametrize lists are disabled. In this case no constraints will be imposed, i.e. the constructions will be performed as if the parametric mode were disabled. |
When the settings are complete, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without saving changes, click Cancel.
The parametric mode setting is stored in the document itself and is not changed when it is transferred to another workstation.
