You can set the position of dimensional captions for a part or assembly in the Dimension caption position section of the setting dialog box.

To access the section, invoke the Settings — Parameters... command and in the dialog box that appears, select Current document — Dimensions — Dimension caption position.

Linear dimensions

The drop-down list allows you to set the default layout of dimension captions for linear dimensions. The following options are available:

• Along the dimensional line,

• On the dimensional line,

• On the dimension line horizontally.

The chosen arrangement of the linear dimension also determines the arrangement of the diametrical and radial dimensions.

Angular dimensions

The drop-down list allows you to set the default positioning of the dimension captions for the angular dimensions. The following options are available:

• Along the dimensional line,

• On the dimensional line,

• On the dimensional line horizontally.

After completing the settings, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog box without changing the settings, click Cancel.
