To enable and configure zone partitioning of the current drawing, see Zoning of setting dialog box. To access the section, invoke the Settings — Parameters... and in the dialog box that appears, select Current document — Document parameters — Zoning.

The dialog box allows to activate the mode of dividing the drawing into zones, to set the dimensions of these zones and their designations.

Divide into zones

The option allows you to activate sheet partitioning into zones and customize partitioning parameters. By default, the option is disabled and all dialog controls are unavailable.

Zoning rectangle

Fields for specifying zone height and width values. The values can be entered manually or selected from a list. When partitioning a sheet into zones, the orientation of the partitioning rectangle is ignored: the sheet side is divided by the length of the side of the rectangle that fits the maximum number of times within the length of that sheet side.

Use vertical marks/ Use horizontal marks

The options control the vertical/horizontal positioning of zone labels on the drawing sheet. When the options are enabled, the corresponding items for setting the zone marking parameters become available.

Text type

The drop-down list allows you to select symbols for zone designation (Arabic or Roman numerals, letters of the Russian or Latin alphabet).

Start from

The field allows you to enter a digit or letter number with which the series of designations will begin.

Direction

The drop-down list allows you to select the direction of labeling Bottom up, Top down/ Left to right, Right to left.

Line type

The drop-down list allows you to select the type of line for drawing zone boundaries. The line appearance is displayed in the View field.

Width of the zone designation field, mm

The drop-down list allows you to select the zone designation field width value (in millimeters).

Zone designation field width

The option allows to place the zone designation field outside the inner frame of the sheet. If the option is disabled, the zone designation field will be located inside the inner frame.

The text is always horizontal

The option allows all zone designation symbols to be placed horizontally.

Font parameters

Font

The drop-down list allows you to select the requred font. The list contains all fonts connected to the OS.

Different from default font

The option allows you to set the font to match or differ from the document's default font.

If the option is disabled, the font always matches the default.

Style

The element group allows you to specify regular, italic, or thickened characters.

Color

A field that displays the current color of the symbol. To change the color, click in the field.

Height, mm

The field allows you to enter a character height value (in millimeters) or select this value from the drop-down list. The manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.

Width, %

The field allows you to enter a character width value or select the value from the drop-down list. A manually entered value is added to the list and saved for the duration of the session KOMPAS-3D.

Preview

The preview window shows the appearance of the text. This allows you to visually evaluate the changes made.

When the settings are complete, click the dialog box Apply and close. To exit the dialog without changing the settings, click Cancel.

The zone partitioning settings are stored in the drawing itself and are not changed when the drawing is transferred to another workstation.
