Advanced options of the BOM item |

A BOM item may contain lots of various information. It complements the text part of the item, which is visible in the BOM line.
This information is never visible in the BOM sheet. However, it can be viewed and edited at any time.
All types of this information are called advanced options of the BOM item.
Advanced options of the BOM item include:
•settings of this item,
•documents connected to the item,
•data in additional columns of the item.
Item settings
Item settings affect its position and display in the BOM, as well as its "behavior" during automatic positioning and sorting of items (see section BOM item settings).
Documents of KOMPAS–3D system can be attached to the BOM item (see section Attaching a document to BOM item). This enables the automatic transfer of property values (Format, Designation, Name, etc.) from the document to the BOM item.
In addition, documents connected to the BOM item can be quickly opened while working with the BOM.
A BOM item may contain information that appends the information included in the standard form. This information is stored in the so-called additional columns of the BOM item (see section Additional columns). They can be viewed or edited at any time. However, they are not visible in the BOM sheet and are not printed.
An example of information in additional columns is the mass and value of the item. In the additional columns you can also enter any other information about the item (OKP code, material, text comment, etc.). The number and structure of additional columns depend on the user’s needs.
Data in the additional columns can be summed up automatically (see section Summing up values in the BOM columns). Usually this feature is used to calculate the cost of the components of the product and its mass (if there’s no three–dimensional model).
