Using model objects when building a sketch

Scroll

When working in a sketch, you can:

Perform object snapping when creating geometric objects and dimensions. This creates an auxiliary projection of the model object. The projected object is associated parametrically with the projection. More details on snapping to model objects...

Use model objects as base objects when creating geometric objects and dimensions. To do this, you just need to specify the model objects when creating/editing an image in the sketch. As a result, an auxiliary projection of the model object is formed, with which the sketch object is associated. Examples: segment parallel to the projection of the edge; equal length link between the segment and the projection of a straight-line object; angular dimension between the segment and the projection of a straight-line object (as a straight-line object, you can specify, among other things, the axis of the coordinate system).

Project model objects onto the sketch plane and find intersections of the selected model objects with the sketch plane. In this case, geometric objects are created in the sketch, associatively linked to corresponding model objects, so when the model is modified or the sketch plane is moved, the geometric objects in it are rebuilt.

The possibility of selecting 3D objects when working in a sketch depends on filters setting. By changing the settings, you can narrow or expand the range of objects available for selection.
