In a text document or a table you can insert the following kinds of illustrations:
•KOMPAS-Drawing (*.cdw),
•KOMPAS-Fragment (*.frw),
•an image stored in a bitmap file (*.bmp, *.gif, *.jpg, *.png, *.tif, *.tga).
A document containing the image being inserted is called an insertion source.
To insert illustrations the following commands are used:
Fragment... — insertion of a drawing or fragment,
Figure... — Insertion of a raster image.
The commands for inserting illustrations are available if the paragraph where the cursor is set is empty or contains the given text. In the latter case insertion of an illustration automatically generates an empty paragraph where the illustration is placed.
If the paragraph with the cursor contains any object, for example, a vertical text, a table or other illustration, then the commands are not available.
Each illustration is inserted into a separate paragraph. Text wrap of the illustration is impossible.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Run the desired illustration insertion command.
The screen will display the file selection dialog.
2.Specify the file to insert.
3.If you want to configure the insertion parameters, click the Parameters button and perform the necessary adjustments in the appearing window. dialog. The button becomes available after specifying the file.
4.To complete the file selection, click Open.
The dialog will close, and the illustration will appear in the document graphic area. The insertion process is completed.
Then you can:
•change alignment of an illustration relative to the borders of data entry field (is done the same way as for the paragraph),
•using the clipboard, move or copy the illustration as a separate character,
•delete the illustration.

Editing inserted illustrations
You can change the parameters of illustration insertion. To do that, double-click the illustration inserted into the text or fetch the Paste Options...command from the context menu. On the screen, the Insertion Parameters dialog will appear.
You can edit any insertion parameters, including change the source file.
Note that change of the method of Insertion is possible only for illustrations by external reference – they can be embedded into the document. Reverse transformation is not available.
In the context menu of bitmap image insertion, there are the Edit with... and Edit Sourcecommands. Using them is described in detail in section Editing raster images.
