Available in the following commands: Dimple, Beat (with U-shape of section) and Strengthening Edge (with U-shape of section).

Bottom edges are edges that are formed at the joints of the bottom faces of the die formed element and faces of its side walls. Edges when belonging to inner side faces of the element are considered as internal bottom edges, and when belonging to outer side faces – as external bottom edges.

Example of inner and outer bottom edges of the dimple

(the die form is cut with a plane that is perpendicular to the base face)

To fillet bottom edges, set the Fillet Bottom toggle switch to I (enabled) and enter the fillet radius in the respective field. The specified radius value R is used to fillet internal bottom edges. The minimum fillet radius of the internal bottom edges is 0.

The radius of rounding of the external edges is equal to the sum (R + S), where S is the thickness of the sheet material. The minimum fillet radius of the external bottom edges is 0.0002.

When building a dimple, note the following. If you build an element with bottom and/or base edge fillets, it will become impossible to maintain at a low height (compared to radii) the specified angle, radius and height values all at once. Since the height and radius have a higher priority, the specified slope angle value is ignored. The slope angle value for side walls (actually, the slope angle of tangents to side walls since their flat portions degenerate in such cases) is automatically calculated by the system.
