Building a Beat |
Scroll |
To create a beat in a sheet part, use the Beat command
.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select a sketch to define the position and configuration of the beat.
•If the model contains a sketch, you can use the whole sketch or its part — an area obtained by intersection of the sketch contours or limited by one of them.
•To select a sketch, specify one of its objects in the graphic area of the model or specify the sketch itself in the Design Tree.
•To select an area in a sketch, click inside that area.
•If there is no proper sketch, build one by clicking the Create Sketch button
to the right of the Sketch field. The sketch placement process will start, and then the system will switch to the Sketch mode for creating geometry. Perform the steps necessary for building and exit the sketch mode. The created sketch will be automatically selected.
|
A beat cannot be built if its sketch has common points with edges with adjoining bends. |
After selecting a sketch, a beat phantom appears in the graphic area.
The name of the selected sketch is displayed in the Sketch field. When you select a sketch area, the word Area is added to the field content.
You can change the sketch if necessary. To do this, click Sketch field and select the required sketch or sketch area. You can also edit the selected sketch by clicking the
icon in the Sketch field.
2.Specify the beat ends processing method by clicking the required button in the Type group. The Type group of buttons is not shown on the Parameter Panel if the sketch only contains points.
3.Specify the beat section shape by clicking the required button in the Section Shape group.
4.Specify the beat building method by clicking the required button in the Method group and specify the parameters for the selected method.
5.The beat building direction (shown with an arrow on the phantom) can be reversed by clicking the Change Direction button
.
6.Set up the base fillet of the beat. For a beat with a U-shaped section, you can also set up the bottom fillet.
7.If required, set the name of the beat and properties of its surface display using the controls located in the Properties section.

8.To complete building, click Create Object button
.
After you confirm the completion of the operation, the beat will appear in the sheet part, and its icon
will appear in the Design Tree.
9.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
.
Tips
•You can set the height, width and some other parameters of the beat in the graphic area using the defining points.
•You can set linear and angular parameters using the commands of the geometrical calculator.
•You can assign a tolerance to the operation parameters expressed in linear or angular values. To do this, run the Tolerance command located in the menu of the required parameter, or click the
icon displayed in the parameter field (the icon is displayed if a tolerance is assigned to the parameter value).
