A model document may contain data on several model building options that have common design features with some differences between them. These options are called model versions (hereinafter versions).
All model versions are contained in a single group document as separate models.
The main version is created by default when creating a model. This version is the original variant of the model and is used to create other versions of this model.
You can create a version directly from the main version or use another version created from the main one. The version used to generate other versions is called the original version.
The system supports creating the dependent and independent versions. Dependent version has a link to the initial version, and independent version has no such link. The connection is checked when creating a version and cannot be changed in the future, i.e. dependent version cannot be made independent and vice versa.
Independent version objects can be edited and deleted. They are not affected by changes in the corresponding objects of the original version.
Objects of a dependent version are associated with the corresponding objects of the original version. Changing or deleting objects of the original version affects the dependent version (transfer of changes has certain features). If required, you can disable the connection of the dependent version objects with the original version objects. Then they will become available for editing and deletion (see section Editing and deleting objects).
If required, you can create dependent mirrored versions (see section Mirrored versions of the model).
The document versions set is graphically represented as the Versions tree, which is displayed on the Tree Panel when click on Versions 
button. Besides, the Design Tree of the current version is displayed in the bottom of the toolbar.
You can work with any model version by making it current. Objects of the current version will be displayed in the graphic area of the model and in the model Design Tree panel, regardless of which tree view is enabled (Design History, Structural representation, or Zones). When working with Versions tree, objects of the current version can be viewed in the Design Tree of the current version.
The model version contains constant and variable data. Constant data are the same for all versions of the model contained in one document. Variable data is different for different versions.
