During the design process you may need to create mirrored versions of the model (parts, assemblies) and/or model components.

A mirrored version is a variant of the model, obtained by its mirror reflection relative to the XY plane of the coordinate system of the original version.

Ways to create mirrored versions

If the original model version contains components, the parameters of their mirror image can be configured. Such configuration is similar to the configuration of the model components created by mirroring (see section Mirroring parameters).

The mirrored version of the model will have a left-side coordinate system (see section Right-Side and Left-Side Coordinate Systems).

The created mirrored version will be a dependent version (see section Main concepts).

Only one mirrored version can be created for each model version.

A mirrored version can not be used as a source version for creating other versions.

Notes on displaying mirrored versions in the Versions tree and in the Document manager.

The icons of the mirrored versions of the model are similar to the icons of the normal versions, but they are turned in the opposite direction.

The name of the mirrored version is formed by adding a predefined suffix to the name of the source version. The suffix can be set during configuration (see section Mirroring).

All other aspects for displaying the mirrored versions in the Versions tree and in the Document manager are the same as for the normal versions (see sections Versions tree and Versions in the Documents manager).

Working with mirrored versions is generally similar to working with normal dependent versions (see section Operations with versions). See notes in section Notes on working with mirrored versions.

Additional features for working with mirror versions are described in sections Changing a component position in a mirrored version and Replacing a component with its mirrored version.
