The object material can be configured in the Material section of the Parameter Panel. The Material button and material selection buttons are used for this purpose.

Material setting tools are always available for models.

The availability of the Material field and the presence of buttons for solids and components depend on the method of CGC calculation (the required method is selected in the CMP calculation section, see the chapter. CMP setting). If the calculation method is By density , By mass or By initial version , then material selection is available, but if By source data , then it is not. In the latter case the material will be inherited from the parent model (for a solid) or from the file (for a component).

The name of the object’s material is displayed in the Material field. The buttons next to the material are used for the material selection:

• Select material from list — allows selecting material from the density reference file, which is used by the system KOMPAS-3D by default. Pressing the button, it opens Dialog Material Density Selection.

• Select material from library – allows selecting the material from the external Reference connected to KOMPAS-3D.

If necessary, in the Material section you can also Set up the hatching parameters.
