Linear Dimension from Line to Point |
Scroll |
You can build a linear dimension between two geometrical elements – a segment and a random point, including a defining point of another graphical object.
To build a linear dimension from line to point, follow these steps.
1.Fetch the Linear from Line to Point
command.
2.Specify a segment to set the dimension from.
Leader lines of the dimension will be parallel to this segment, and one of its ends will be the first snap point of the dimension, i.e. the point of offset for the first leader line.
The name of the segment will appear in the Objects field, and a phantom dimension will be displayed in the graphic area.
3.To set the second snap point, specify one of the following objects:
•random point,
•segment parallel to the segment used to set the dimension from – one of the ends of the specified segment will be used as the snap point,
•circle (circle arc) – the tangent point of the circle and the line parallel to the segment used to set the dimension from will be used as the snap point.
When you specify an object, its name is displayed in the Objects field; when you specify a point, its coordinates are displayed in the Point field of the Coordinates group.
4.Edit the dimension text, if required. To start working with the dimension text, press any alphanumeric key. See section on editing the dimension label...
5.Set the number of decimal places in the dimension text. Details...
6.Set a dimension tolerance. Details...
7.Set up additional dimension parameters, if required: dimension text placement option, arrow display parameters, etc. Details...
8.Set the point defining the dimensional line location.
•If you select automatic, fixed or manual placement of the dimension text, the specified point also defines the text position. After this point is specified, dimension creation is automatically completed.
•If you select to place dimension text on the landing, the specified point defines dimensional line location and start of the leader. In this case, you need to specify one more point – a starting point of the landing. After this point is specified, dimension creation is automatically completed.
9.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
