Objects of various types can be used as detailing geometry. You can add a part or an assembly existing in a file on the disk to the model.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Call the Add detailing geometry from file... command
.
The dialog for selecting the insertion source file — a standard Open File dialog or a dialog of source file selection for the component.
2.Select in the dialog the file containing the desired model.
If the inserted model contains versions, then the set of objects and properties of the detailing geometry will correspond to one of these versions. All versions existing in the model are included in the Variation list of the file selection dialog. Specify the desired version in the list.
In the selected model has additional version numbers created, then the dialog also contains the Additional Number list. By default there is no additional numbers selected in the list (an empty row of the list). If necessary, select the line with the desired number.
3.To complete selecting the file, click Open (or Select if you select the model in the Opened Documents dialog). The dialog closes, a detailing geometry will be created in the current model containing the model from the selected file.
The absolute coordinate system of the model from the file coincides with the absolute coordinate system of the current model.

If the model from the file and/or the current model contain local coordinate systems, then you can subsequently change the detailing geometry position. To do this, enter its editing mode and make the required coordinate systems of the models current. Details... |
In the Model Design Tree, in the section Detailing Geometry, an icon corresponding to the detailing geometry type (part
or assembly
) will appear. Next to the icon is the name of the detailing geometry taken from its file.
After detailing geometry is added, rebuilding a Modelis needed.
If the detailing geometry is a model version, you can replace it with another model version. To do this, invoke the Current version command from the detailing geometry context menu in the Design Tree and specify the required version in the version list of the model that appears. A "checkmark" will appear next to the designation of the selected performance. This means that this design is inserted into the model. After selecting the performance, rebuild the model.
