Creating Detailing Geometry "In Place" |
Scroll |
When working with an assembly, you can create detailing geometry directly in this assembly ("in place").
Step-by-step instructions
1.Invoke the Create detailing geometry... command
.
The process of creating a part as detailing geometry will start – elements of the part parameters setting will appear on the Parameter Panel, the Detailing Geometry option will be included.
If necessary, you can change the type of detailing geometry being created using the buttons on the Parameter Panel heading. The following options are available:
Create Part,
Create assembly,
Create local part.
If the detailing geometry is a part or assembly, then it is saved in a separate file, and if the local part is stored in a file of the current assembly. Working with a local part has specifics.
2.Set the parameters for the created part/assembly/local part using the Parameter Toolbar elements and complete creation of detailing geometry. These actions are performed for detailing geometry in the same way as for an assembly component. Details...
|
Creating detailing geometry is performed only when the Detailing Geometry option is enabled.. If the option is disabled, the part, assembly, or local part will be created as a normal component. |
3.The created detailing geometry is added to the Detailing Geometry section of the Design Tree, and the system goes into its context editing mode. Perform all necessary actions in this mode. More details on working in the context editing mode...
After in-place editing of a part/assembly/local part is completed, it is required to rebuild a model.
The absolute coordinate system of the model from the detailing geometry coincides with the absolute coordinate system of the current model.
|
If the current model and / or the detailing geometry created in it contain local coordinate systems, then in the future you can change the position of the detailing geometry. To do this, enter the detailing geometry edit mode and make the desired coordinate systems current. Details... |
