Continuity check |
Scroll |
Checking of continuity allows to evaluate precision of junctures and the order of smoothness in the curves or surfaces joint location. The checking is performed based on the G0 (Precision of juncture), G1 (Tangency) and G2 (Smoothness) criteria.

For checking of continuity, the Checking of continuity
command is used.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Select the objects for checking continuity in the graphic area or in the Design tree.
The names of specified objects are located in the Objects field on the Parameters toolbar. The type of continuity is displayed on the phantom in the graphic area, and in the Result group on the Parameter Panel, the data on checked joints and docking parameters are placed. 2.If required, change the threshold value of distance which determines the junction of curve vertices or boundary edges as a juncture, in the Radius of juncture field.
3.If required, change the threshold values of continuity criteria in the group Allowed values on the Parameter Panel:
•In the field G0 (Joint Accuracy) — the distance between the vertices of curves or the bordering edges of faces, at which the joint is considered continuous,
•In the field G1 (Tangency) — the angle between tangents in vertices of the curves juncture or between normal vectors to faces along the juncture line,
•In the G2 (Smoothness) field, the relative deviation of curvature at the vertices of the curve juncture or along the juncture line of the faces.
In practice, the majority of models do not require any changes of threshold values of the default continuity criteria.

During comparative analysis of continuity of various junctures, threshold values for criteria G0, G1 and G2 must be equal. |
4.If necessary, change the accuracy of measurement results display and the unit of measurement using elements of the Information Format, described in the section. Measurement parameters.
5.To save the checking (objects as well as checking parameters will be saved), press the Save
button in the Panel Parameters header. The name of the check can be configured in the Properties section.
After the check is saved, in the Diagnostics
section of Model Tree will appear object with a relevant icon .
The team's work does not end after saving the check. You can edit its parameters if necessary, after which a recalculation will automatically be performed and the results will be displayed in the graphic area and on the Parameter Toolbar.
6.To complete the execution of the continuity check command, click Finish button
in the header of the Parameter Panel.
