Placement of objects at an angle to each other |

To create an At Angle mating, you can use various objects. Depending on their combination, the angle of mating is:
•for rectilinear objects – the angle between crossed or intersecting straight lines containing these objects,
•for rectilinear and flat objects – the angle between the rectilinear object and its projection on the flat object,
•for two flat objects – the angle between the planes of the objects,
•for a rectilinear object and a revolution surface – the angle between the object and the axis of the revolution surface,
•for a flat object and a revolution surface, the angle between the revolution surface and its projection onto the flat object,
•for two revolution surfaces, the angle between the rotation axes.

To place two objects at a specified angle to each other, use the At angle
command.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify the mated objects. Such objects can be straight-line objects, flat objects, surfaces of revolution. The names of the selected objects appear in the Object 1 and Object 2 fields.

2.Set the mating angle type using the Flat angle toggle switch on the Parameter Panel. If the toggle switch is set to position 0 (disabled), then the angle of mating is measured in space, if it is set to position I (enable), the angle of mating is measured in the plane.

When choosing the type of mating angle, you should take into account that after applying the mating, changing of the mating components position will be limited: •for a spatial angle, by its value, •for a flat angle, by that angle value and the position of its measurement plane. |
3.If the toggle switch Flat Angle is set to position I (enabled), specify the axis that determines the direction for measuring the angle of mating in the plane. The plane of measurement for the mating angle (the angle plane for short) is a conditional plane perpendicular to the given axis. The name of the axis is displayed in the Axis field.
4.Set the mating angle. The following options are available:
•Keep the original angle between objects (default option) — it allows you to create a mating where the relative position of the objects coincides with the original position or minimally differs from it. It is performed with the enabled Nearest Solution option.
The angle value will be determined automatically by the initial position of the mating objects and displayed in the Angle field.

For the automatic determination of the angle value between objects, the Nearest Solution option must be enabled before specifying them. |
•Manual entry of the angle value in the Angle field.

When the Nearest Solution option is enabled, the Angle field becomes available after specifying the mating objects. If it is required to set the angle value before specifying the objects, disable this option immediately after calling the command. |
•Setting the range of values allows to create a mating that lets objects rotate relative to each other within a specified angle. For example, such matings are useful for designing assembly models with movable parts. The ability to move objects also allows to configure a required sub-assembly components positioning, specifically by moving sub-assembly components (see Movable sub-assemblies).
To set the range of values, switch the Use range toggle to position I (on) and enter the boundary values of the range in the Border 1 and Border 2 fields. In the Angle field, enter the value of the angle which will be between the objects after the creation of the conjugation. The angle value should fall within the specified range.
When the mating objects are selected and the angle between them is defined, the model rebuilds itself in such a way as to fulfill the mating condition (the rebuild process is applied only if all currently existing matings do not block the selected objects from positioning at the defined angle to each other).
5.In some cases, different options for the placement of conjugate objects are possible, where the angle between them corresponds to the given one. In such cases, the Parameters toolbar will contain the Reverse Orientation option. You can change location of an object by enabling or disabling this option. Details...
6.To complete creating the mating, click Create Object

After that, the mating is overlaid on the specified objects, and the corresponding icon appears in the Feature Tree:
•
— for mating with a fixed angle value,
•
— for coupling with a range of values.
7.To complete operation of the command, click Finish
