To change a controlling dimension value, use the Set Dimension Value command
.
Step-by-step instructions
1.Specify a dimension to set a value for.
On the screen, there will appear the Set dimension value dialog.

•You can specify a dimension before running the command. In this case, after running the command the dialog box for setting the dimension value will immediately appear on the screen. •The dialog box for setting the dimension value can also be opened by double clicking on the dimension text of the dimension (double clicking any other part of the dimension initiates its editing). |
2.Perform the required actions in the dialog box: set a required dimension value, assign a dimension tolerance, change the name of the variable corresponding to the dimension, etc.
3.Complete the dialog box by clicking Change Size

The value set for the dimension will be transferred to the document and all the information about the created variable will be transferred to the Variables toolbar. The variable is displayed in the dimension text of the dimension when the constraint display mode.

When closing the dialog box with the Change size button, the following problems may arise: •fixing or applying a new dimension value is impossible, for example due to applied constraints, •the dimension can only be informational, but the Info Dimension button is not enabled in the dialog box. In case if one of the above problems arises, a message with its description appears on the screen. The dialog box for setting the dimension value remains open. |
