Saving the setting

You can save the current interface settings to a file. When saving, the following is written:

settings of the Toolbar Panel of the window (The configuration controls are described in the section Customizing the toolbar:

the vertical size of the Toolbar Panel;

the list of toolbar sets (including Custom sets;

the structure of toolbars of each of the sets (including Custom toolbars);

the position, size and structure of commands of toolbars, included in the sets;

the position of control panels, except for those that appear at application startup (see Section Configuring control panels);

the structure and position of context bars commands (see section Setting up context bars;

the list of keyboard shortcuts used to run the system commands (see section Configuring keyboard shortcuts).

To perform the save operation, invoke the Save setting... command and specify the file name and the folder for saving in the dialog that appears.

The file with the saved settings has the extension kset. By default, it is saved in the C:\Users\<username>\Documents\ASCON\Kompas-3D folder.

Please note the following when saving your settings.

The current state of the interface (i.e., the state at the moment of saving) is written to the *.kset file.

All of the above settings are written to the file. You cannot disable writing of any settings.

The set of parameters written to the file includes interface settings for all types of documents, regardless of whether these documents are opened or not.
For example, user worked with a model and changed the vertical dimension of the Instrumental area. After that, he started to work with a drawing and closed the tab with the document model. In the drawing, the user configured the position and sizes of the toolbars and decided to save the setting. When saving into the file *.kset, not only the display parameters of the toolbars for graphic documents will be recorded, but also the modified size of the Instrumental Area for models.

Loading the setting

Previously saved interface settings can be applied to the system window.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Call the Load Setting... command.
The Open File dialog will appear on the screen.

2.Specify the required file with settings *.kset and press the Open button.
On the screen, a dialog Load settings will appear.

3.Select the settings you want to load by enabling the appropriate options in the dialog:

Toolbar and control panel settings,,

Setting up context bars,

Keyboard Settings.

 

4.click Load.
The appearance of the system window will change according to the settings loaded from the file. While working with multiple windows KOMPAS-3D The settings apply to all windows.

The interface settings parameters for documents of all types are transmitted to the windowKOMPAS-3D, regardless of the type of document displayed on the screen at the time the settings are applied.

Once the settings are applied, you can change the parameters of the current window. These changes are not transferred to the file with saved settings.

Resetting

You can reset the modified settings of the interface elements to the default settings. These include:

Toolbar Panel parameters (parameter settings are described in the Customizing the toolbar,

the position of the control panels (this setting is described in the Configuring control panels,

structure and position of commands of context bars (this setting is described in section Setting up context bars),

list of keyboard shortcuts used to run the system commands (this setting is described in section Configuring keyboard shortcuts).

You can reset all or some of these settings.

Step-by-step instructions

1.Call the Reset setting command.
The Reset Settings dialog box will appear on the screen.

2.Determine which elements you want to reset. To do this, enable appropriate options in the dialog:

Toolbar and control panel settings,,

Setting up context bars,

Keyboard Settings.

3.click Reset button.
The settings for the selected elements will become the default settings. The other parameters will not change.

Resetting the interface settings using the Reset Setting command applies to All windows KOMPAS-3D and documents of all types, regardless of whether these documents are open or not.

General interface settings (highlight color, icon size, etc.) cannot be reset automatically. If you want to reset these settings to the default settings, change them manually.
