Setting up the colors of selected and specified objects is performed in the Edit Modeldialog fetched with the command Settings — Parameters...... — System — Model Editor — Editing.
The dialog allows to set colors:
•of highlighted objects when none of the commands are running.
•components constituting the "environment" when editing one of the components in the context of the model containing it (see section Working in the context editing mode,
•phantoms.

Description of setting |
|
Table of object colors |
The first column of the table contains colors, and the second – names of object types which use these colors. To change a color, mouse-click in its cell, then press the button with a triangle which appeared in the right-hand part of the cell and select the required color in a standard color selection dialog. |
|
Highlighting — Selected Object |
Color that will be used to highlight objects when none of the commands are running. Object selection is required, for example, for editing its parameters or for subsequent use when executing a command. After starting the command, the color of the selected objects changes to the color specified in the fields for the specified objects (see below). |
|
Highlighting – Specified Object 1 / Specified Object 2 / Specified Object 3 |
The colors with which the specified objects (in this case, the specified objects refer to the objects highlighted during the execution of commands) are displayed. Multi-colored backlight allows to distinguish objects on indication, since in some operations not object is used but several objects performing various functions. For example, on designing an array based on the parallelogram grid, all the source objects will be highlighted in a for the first object, the object specified as the first axis – with the color for the second object, and the object specified as the second axis – with the color for the third object. The color set for the first specified object is also used also when highlighting objects during a dynamic search (it is described in section Selecting objects in the Graphic Regionif the option Inversion with dynamic highlighting is disabled. |
|
Context Editing — Passive Components |
Color of Non-Active Components. Non-active components – ones that are used as the "environment" during editing a component in the context of a model containing the components. If the option Use component's own colors is enabled, the defined color is ignored. |
|
Ghost Faces |
The color of faces of the phantom displayed on the screen during creation or editing a 3D element. Since the phantom is displayed translucent, its appearance also depends on the transparency setting – lattice or realistic (see section View Control). |
|
Ghost Captions |
The color of captions as part of the feature’s phantom, for example, numbers of curves while designing a surface by grid of curves. |
|
Dimensions |
Dimensions of sketches and operations. |
|
Paint Faces when Highlighted |
Enable this option in order to make the faces of objects being selected (indicated) be filled with the color chosen for selection (indication). If the option is disabled, then during selection (indication) changed is only the color of edges. Note that during dynamic highlighting the faces are not painted – only the color of edges changes. |
|
The option allows to enable inverse dynamic highlighting of edges instead of highlighting in the color set for the first specified object. |
||
Inherent Colors of Components in Context Edit Mode |
Enabling this option means that during context editing the components will save their own colors. |
|
If requested, use OpenGL OpenGL search |
Enabling the option means that dynamic search is conducted based on OpenGL objects. In certain cases, that allows to optimize the process of dynamic search. |
Having set the required colors of the selected objects, click OK. Click Cancelto discard all changes to the settings and exit the dialog.
