Objects Defining Orientation of the Section Plane during Movement of the Segment-Section

Scroll

A segment — the section of a linear surface, — the movement of which forms ruled surface, in each of its positions is located in the section plane. The section plane can be perpendicular to the straight-line direction or a curved line — depending on the type of section movement.

Parallel to itself

The plane of the section is perpendicular to the rectilinear direction set by the orienting object. A guiding object can be:

straight-line object — the section plane is perpendicular to the line containing the object,

flat object – the section plane is perpendicular to the normal of the object,

vector – the cutting plane is perpendicular to the direction specified by the vector.

The name of the specified guiding object is displayed in the Guiding Object field on the Parameter Panel.

By Line

The section plane is perpendicular to the guide line. The following can be specified as the guiding line:

a spatial curve or, in the case of a contour or a broken line individual segments,

sketch line,

edge,

a chain of the above mentioned objects in any combination (the angle between tangents at the junction points of the chain objects should not exceed 0.005°).

Names of the specified object(s) are displayed in the field Guiding Line.
