Editing properties of the model variant |
Scroll |
The set of model properties is the same for all contained in it variants and versions. Values of the properties may be different for different variants.
When creating a new variant, values of the properties of the original version are transferred to it. Later, you can change the property values of the variant. To that end, start the process of editing properties by one of the following ways:
•in versions and variations tree — from the context menu of the required variant, invoke the Variant properties command,
•in model design tree or in the tree of the current variant (displayed in the lower part of the Tree panel in mode Tree: versions) — call the Model properties command from the context menu of the root element of the Tree; in this case, the properties are edited for current variant.
The procedure for editing the values of properties in versions is the same as for models or their versions (see section Properties of a model, model version, model variant, solid).
To change the values of the current version properties, you can use the Property Editor (see sections Property Editor and Setting property values).

Changes to the values of some properties of a variant are transferred to its source version and then to the variants and dependent versions of this version. The specifics of property change transmission are described below. |
|
If required, when working with a model variant, you can change the set of document properties (on working with document properties, see section Property Management). |
Notes on transferring property changes of a variant to other variants and versions
•Changing the base part of the designation is transferred to the original version of the variant, and from this version to all its variants and dependent versions.
If the source version to which the change is transferred is itself dependent, then the change is transferred upwards to its original version, and so on.
If the change to the base part of the designation is transferred to the main version, it propagates to all variants and versions of the model that have the same base part of the designation as the main version.
•The code change in the designation is transferred to the original version of the variant, and from this version to all its variants, as well as to dependent versions that have the same code value. Changes to the code above are not transferred, even if the original implementation of the variant is dependent.
•The name change is transferred to the source execution of the variant, and from this execution to all its variants. The dependent versions located on the same branch with the variant are not affected by this change.
•The values of the properties Author and Organization are set for the entire document. Therefore, their change is transferred to all variants and versions of the model (including the main version).
•Changes to other properties of a variant are not transferred to other variants and versions.
